Description
Sermorelin is GHRH(1-29), the shortest fully active piece of growth hormone releasing hormone. Each vial holds 5 mg of freeze-dried peptide, and the batch tested at 98.96% purity.

It’s in our research peptides range. For longer-acting GHRH research, look at CJC-1295 DAC or tesamorelin. Researchers often study it alongside a GHRP such as ipamorelin.
What is sermorelin?
Natural GHRH has 44 amino acids, but researchers found the first 29 carry its full activity. Sermorelin is that 29-amino-acid fragment, made synthetically with an amide at the end.
It binds GHRH receptors in the pituitary and triggers growth hormone release. It’s broken down quickly, with a half-life of only minutes.
Sermorelin research and history
Sermorelin was approved in the US under the name Geref for diagnosing and treating growth hormone deficiency in children. The maker stopped producing it in 2008 for commercial reasons, not safety ones.
Studies in older adults looked at GH and IGF-1 levels, sleep and body composition, with mixed results. The research version isn’t an approved drug. Search the literature on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 250 mcg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
Lab testing and certificate of analysis
Each batch of this peptide is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity. The current certificate of analysis is dated 09/02/25 and reports 98.96% purity. Email us for the full COA if you need it for your lab records.
Sermorelin FAQ
What’s the difference between sermorelin and CJC-1295?
CJC-1295 is a modified GHRH(1-29) built to last longer. The DAC version binds albumin and lasts days.
Was sermorelin ever an approved drug?
Yes, as Geref, until it was discontinued in 2008.
How should I store the vials?
Keep vials in the fridge and away from light.
Why researchers buy from Sports Technology Labs
Quality control is the whole job for a research supplier, so we keep it visible. Each batch is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent Arizona lab, and the result is printed right on the product page. Our peptides arrive freeze-dried in sealed sterile glass vials, and you can contact us for the full COA whenever you need it.
