Description
DSIP, or delta sleep-inducing peptide, is a nine-amino-acid neuropeptide first isolated from rabbit brain blood. Each vial holds 5 mg of freeze-dried peptide.

It’s one of our research peptides. For other peptides studied around sleep and circadian rhythm, see epitalon.
What is DSIP?
Swiss researchers Schoenenberger and Monnier isolated DSIP in 1977 from the blood of rabbits kept in induced sleep. When they gave it to other rabbits, it increased delta (slow-wave) sleep, which is how it got its name.
Despite decades of study, scientists still haven’t identified a specific DSIP receptor or the gene that makes it. That makes it a frustrating research target, and it’s part of why results vary so much between labs.
DSIP research findings
Animal studies have linked it to sleep regulation, stress responses and body temperature. A few small human studies in the 1980s looked at insomnia and withdrawal symptoms, with mixed results. Some found better sleep efficiency, others found little change compared with placebo, and none were large enough to settle the question.
It’s an unusual peptide: active in some models, unclear in others. It isn’t approved for any use. Find the research on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 250 mcg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
Lab testing and certificate of analysis
Each batch of this peptide is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity. The current certificate of analysis is dated 10/17/2025 and reports 91% purity. Email us for the full COA if you need it for your lab records.
DSIP FAQ
What does DSIP stand for?
Delta sleep-inducing peptide, after its effect on slow-wave sleep in rabbits.
Is its mechanism known?
Not fully. No specific receptor has been identified.
How should the vials be stored?
Refrigerated and away from light.
Why researchers buy from Sports Technology Labs
We’re a US company that sells only what we’ve had tested. Each peptide batch goes to MZ Biolabs in Arizona before it’s listed, and the purity and COA date go on the product page. Vials are lyophilized, sealed and stored cold. We don’t use discreet billing tricks or vague labels. What’s on the vial is what’s in it.
Shipping, returns and support
We offer free US shipping on orders over $149, plus an express option at checkout. If something isn’t right, our 60-day money-back guarantee covers it. You can email us any time with questions about testing, storage or your order.
For laboratory research use only
This research peptide is sold for in vitro and laboratory research only. It is not for human or animal use, it isn’t approved by the FDA, and it isn’t a supplement. Please treat everything on this page as research information, not medical advice.
