What is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-amino-acid version of human IGF-1. It has an arginine in place of glutamic acid at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid extension at the start.
Those two changes mean it barely binds the IGF binding proteins that normally hold IGF-1 in check. More of it stays free and active, and it lasts much longer than native IGF-1, which has a half-life of minutes.
IGF-1 LR3 research uses
IGF-1 LR3 was designed for cell culture. It’s widely used to support cell growth in bioreactors and serum-free media, because it works at lower concentrations than regular IGF-1. Animal studies have looked at muscle growth, gut function and metabolism.
It isn’t approved for any human or veterinary use, and WADA bans IGF-1 and its analogs. Search the work on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 1 mg vial gives 0.5 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 50 mcg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
Lab testing and certificate of analysis
Each batch of this peptide is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity. The current certificate of analysis is dated 07/08/25 and reports 97.42% purity. Email us for the full COA if you need it for your lab records.
IGF-1 LR3 FAQ
Why is IGF-1 LR3 longer acting than IGF-1?
Its changes stop most binding to IGF binding proteins, so it stays active longer.
What is IGF-1 LR3 used for in labs?
Mostly cell culture, where it supports cell growth at low concentrations.
How should I store IGF-1 LR3?
Refrigerate or freeze it, sealed and away from light.
Why researchers buy from Sports Technology Labs
Most online peptide sellers don’t publish lab results, or they hide the name of the lab. We do the opposite. Every batch is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity, and we list the COA date and purity on each product page. Peptides are freeze-dried in sterile glass vials and kept refrigerated until they ship.
Shipping, returns and support
Orders over $149 ship free inside the US, and express shipping is there at checkout if you’re short on time. Everything we sell is covered by a 60-day money-back guarantee. Questions about a batch, a COA or an order? Email us and a real person will answer.
