What is GHK-Cu copper peptide?
GHK is a tripeptide (glycine, histidine, lysine) that grabs copper ions tightly. Loren Pickart found it in human blood plasma in 1973, and levels of it drop with age.
The copper complex, GHK-Cu, is the form used in most research and in many skin care products.
GHK-Cu copper peptide research
Lab and animal studies have linked GHK-Cu to wound healing, collagen and elastin production and new blood vessel growth. Gene expression studies by Pickart and colleagues suggested it changes the activity of thousands of human genes.
Small trials of creams containing GHK-Cu looked at skin firmness and fine lines. As a research peptide, it isn’t approved for human use. The studies are on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 50 mg vial gives 25 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 2.5 mg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
Lab testing and certificate of analysis
Each batch of this peptide is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity. The current certificate of analysis is dated 06/03/25 and reports 99.99% purity. Email us for the full COA if you need it for your lab records.
GHK-Cu copper peptide FAQ
Why does GHK-Cu look blue?
The copper gives the powder and solution a blue color. That’s normal.
Is GHK-Cu the same as GHK?
GHK is the peptide on its own. GHK-Cu is GHK bound to a copper ion.
How should I store GHK-Cu?
Refrigerate it, sealed and away from light.
