What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 (body protection compound 157) is a 15-amino-acid peptide based on a section of a protein found in human gastric juice. Most of the research comes from Predrag Sikiric’s group at the University of Zagreb, which has published on it since the early 1990s.
It’s unusually stable for a peptide. It holds up in gastric juice for hours, which is why it’s studied both by injection and by mouth in animal models.
BPC-157 research in animal models
Rat studies have looked at it in tendon, ligament, muscle and bone healing, with faster repair reported in several injury models. It has also been studied for stomach ulcers, inflammatory bowel models and nerve injury. Many papers point to effects on blood vessel growth, through VEGF and nitric oxide signalling.
Human data is very thin, mostly small pilot reports. It isn’t approved by the FDA, and WADA lists it as prohibited. You can search the published work on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 250 mcg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
