What is YK-11 powder?
YK-11 is a steroidal compound derived from DHT. It acts as a partial agonist at the androgen receptor, and it’s sold as a SARM even though its structure is a steroid.
In cell studies it raises follistatin, a protein that blocks myostatin. That’s the root of its reputation as a myostatin inhibitor, though the effect is indirect.
YK-11 powder in cell studies
Kanno and colleagues reported in 2013 that YK-11 drove C2C12 myoblasts to differentiate into muscle more strongly than DHT, and that blocking follistatin removed the effect. A 2014 paper found it sped up mineralization in MC3T3-E1 bone cells through the androgen receptor.
On the safety side, a 2023 rat study linked YK-11 to oxidative stress in the hippocampus, and there are human case reports of liver injury. There are no clinical trials. Browse the research on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
