What is AOD-9604?
AOD-9604 is amino acids 176 to 191 of human growth hormone, with a tyrosine added at the start. Researchers at Monash University found this end of the GH molecule seemed to carry its fat-burning effect.
It doesn’t raise IGF-1 or affect blood sugar the way full growth hormone does, at least in the studies that tested it.
AOD-9604 research
Metabolic Pharmaceuticals in Australia ran several human trials for obesity. Early ones looked promising, but a larger phase IIb trial in 2007 found no significant weight loss over placebo, and development for obesity stopped.
Later research looked at cartilage repair in animal models. AOD-9604 isn’t approved for any medical use in the US. See the studies on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 250 mcg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
Lab testing and certificate of analysis
Each batch of this peptide is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity. The current certificate of analysis is dated 03/24/2025 and reports 99.43% purity. Email us for the full COA if you need it for your lab records.
AOD-9604 FAQ
Is AOD-9604 the same as growth hormone?
No. It’s a short fragment of GH and doesn’t raise IGF-1 the way full GH does.
Did AOD-9604 work in human trials?
The large phase IIb obesity trial didn’t show meaningful weight loss versus placebo.
How should AOD-9604 be stored?
Refrigerated, sealed and away from light.
Why researchers buy from Sports Technology Labs
Most online peptide sellers don’t publish lab results, or they hide the name of the lab. We do the opposite. Every batch is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity, and we list the COA date and purity on each product page. Peptides are freeze-dried in sterile glass vials and kept refrigerated until they ship.
Shipping, returns and support
Orders over $149 ship free inside the US, and express shipping is there at checkout if you’re short on time. Everything we sell is covered by a 60-day money-back guarantee. Questions about a batch, a COA or an order? Email us and a real person will answer.
