Description
KPV peptide is a three-amino-acid fragment of alpha-MSH studied for inflammation. Each vial holds 5 mg of freeze-dried KPV, from a batch that tested at 98.38% purity.

What is KPV peptide?
KPV is lysine, proline and valine, the last three amino acids of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. Researchers found this short end piece kept much of alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity without its effects on skin color.
It’s small enough to be taken up by PepT1, a peptide transporter found in the gut, which is why most research focuses on the bowel. Once inside colon cells, it appears to calm the NF-kB signalling that drives inflammation.
KPV peptide research
A 2008 study by Dalmasso and colleagues in Gastroenterology found oral KPV reduced inflammation in two mouse models of colitis, working through PepT1 in colon cells. Later work tested KPV in nanoparticles aimed at the colon, and in skin inflammation models.
There are no human trials, and KPV isn’t approved for any use. Search the research on PubMed.

Measuring and storage
It ships as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial. Before reconstitution, keep vials in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in the freezer for longer storage, away from light.
To reconstitute, let the vial reach room temperature, then add sterile diluent slowly down the side of the glass. Swirl gently and don’t shake it. As an example, adding 2 mL to a 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL, so every 0.1 mL holds 250 mcg. Write the date and volume on the vial.
Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within the window your protocol allows. Most labs avoid repeated freezing and thawing of reconstituted peptide, because it can break the chains down.
Lab testing and certificate of analysis
Each batch of this peptide is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity. The current certificate of analysis is dated 10/24/24 and reports 98.38% purity. Email us for the full COA if you need it for your lab records.
KPV peptide FAQ
Where does KPV come from?
It’s the last three amino acids of alpha-MSH.
Does KPV affect skin pigment?
Not in the way alpha-MSH does. It’s studied for inflammation, not tanning.
How should I store KPV?
Keep it refrigerated and away from light.
Why researchers buy from Sports Technology Labs
Quality control is the whole job for a research supplier, so we keep it visible. Each batch is tested by MZ Biolabs, an independent Arizona lab, and the result is printed right on the product page. Our peptides arrive freeze-dried in sealed sterile glass vials, and you can contact us for the full COA whenever you need it.
