Lab testing: third-party tested SARMs and peptides

Every product Sports Technology Labs sells is third-party tested before it goes on sale. This page explains what we test, who tests it, and how to read the results on our product pages.

Sports Technology Labs liquid SARMs after lab testing: RAD-140, Ostarine, MK-677 and LGD-4033

Why third-party tested SARMs and peptides matter

A 2017 study in JAMA tested 44 products sold online as SARMs. Only about half contained the compound on the label, 39% contained other unapproved drugs, and some contained nothing active at all. Testing by an independent lab is the only practical way to know what you're buying.

How Sports Technology Labs tests each batch

First, raw material has to test at 98% purity or higher before we use it. Second, finished batches go to MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Arizona, for identity and purity testing by HPLC. Third, the purity and the COA date are added to the product page before the batch is listed.

If a batch doesn't match its label, we don't sell it.

How to read a COA on our product pages

Each product page has a specifications list and a lab testing section. The purity figure is the percentage of the target compound found in the sample. The COA date tells you when that batch was tested. Most product pages also show images of the certificate and the HPLC chromatogram in the gallery.

For example, our liquid MK-677 currently shows 99.97% purity and our BPC-157 vials show 99.85%.

What HPLC testing tells you

High-performance liquid chromatography separates the compounds in a sample and measures how much of each is there. A single tall peak at the expected retention time means the sample is mostly the target compound. Small extra peaks show impurities. That's why the purity figure and the chromatogram matter more than a label claim.

Lab testing FAQ

Who tests Sports Technology Labs products?

MZ Biolabs, an independent laboratory in Arizona.

Is every product tested?

Yes. Every batch of every product is tested before it's listed.

What's the minimum purity you accept?

Raw material must test at 98% or higher before we use it. Purity results for finished batches are listed on each product page.

Do you test peptides and SARMs the same way?

Both are tested by HPLC for identity and purity. Peptides are tested as freeze-dried powder before they're sealed in vials.

Lab testing standards we follow

Our lab testing uses HPLC, the same method most pharmaceutical labs use to check identity and purity. It separates a sample into its parts and measures each one, so a mislabeled or diluted product shows up clearly.

We don't list a batch until its lab testing is complete and the result matches the label. If you want to compare our numbers with published reference data, the original papers for most of our compounds are on PubMed.

Lab testing doesn't stop once a product is listed. When a new batch arrives, it goes through the same checks before the old stock runs out, and the product page is updated with the new purity figure and test date. If you bought from an earlier batch, email us and we'll send the COA that matches your order.

We also keep the certificates from past batches on file. That way, if you're comparing results across several orders for a longer study, we can send you the full history for any product you've bought from us.
